The City Attorney’s Office

• Provides legal advice to all City of Natchez officials and departments in matters associated with existing as well as future operations
• Attends all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Aldermen as well as departmental meetings when needed
• Represents the City in legal actions filed on behalf of the City or against the City.

Additionally, in the event it is required for the City of Natchez to take legal action against an individual, business or entity, the City Attorney’s Office handles the legal aspects of the case and represents the City of Natchez as needed.  The City Attorney’s Office also provides legal representation for any legal actions taken against the City of Natchez for various reasons and represents the City of Natchez in these matters.

All requests regarding legal information, previous court rulings, pending litigation and other legal issues that involve the City of Natchez should be made to the City Attorney’s Office.
