Fire Chief Stewart has over 30 years of experience in fire safety with involvement in various phases of fire service: Firefighting, firefighter training, school/public education, continued firefighting education, hazardous materials, water rescue, efficient use of fire equipment, driving experience, knowledge of city/county areas for rapid response, working relationship with crew members, commanding fire scenes, counseling, discipline, evaluations, department budget, purchasing and scheduling to ensure sufficient management of the Natchez Fire Department.
The Natchez Fire Department serves the City of Natchez by:
• Provides fire suppression and control, as needed
• Promotes fire prevention
• Conducts fire investigations
• Provides public fire educational programs
• Inspects public properties including schools, hospitals, residential care facilities and public buildings
• Conducts search and rescue operations as needed
• Provides radiological protection
• Provides decontamination and monitoring
• Manages hazardous material incidents
